One of the most important duties is protecting lives in the wake of natural
disasters, such as earthquakes, typhoons, and fires, and other major accidents.
The MPD's Mobile Rescue Unit and Water Rescue Unit are specialized in rescue
operations at disaster areas and accident scenes. Popularly known as the
Rescue 110, these units are fully equipped and composed of officers specialized
in rescue techniques.
